Support & Sponsorship

The
new SOD partners club is called Gratitud.
It
seeks to first establish an appreciative relationship with faithful
givers and those who have consistently supported our mission.
Secondly, it seeks to attract persons who sincerely desire to
support this unique work, or who wish to take advantage of the
immense benefits of sponsoring or partnering with Spirit of David or
any of her projects.
We
have three kinds of Partners in Gratitud.
-
Resource
Partners
-
Finance
Partners
-
Designated
Partners
-
Resource
Partners are individuals, corporations, family and friends who
give what they have, or what they may have access to
supplying/providing. Based on Acts 3.6 “Then Peter
said, Silver and gold have I
none; but such as I have
give I thee…”, these partners are willing to
provide venues, vehicles, tickets, apartments, clothing, props,
sound or light equipment, professional and technical assistance,
services or products…as much as will effectively support our
shows, events and operations.
-
Finance
Partners are individuals, companies, groups etc who give cash
towards any of our projects or to the operations of the club.
These partners may give any amount they are moved to as often as
they so wish. It is obvious they are an integral part to the
advancement of our work and the fulfillment of our dreams.
Our Finance partners are from across the world and believe very
much, not only in the performing arts, but in the medium of
dance being used as a means of communicating and inculcating
Life, Hope, Discipline and Purpose in both young and old.
Finance partners are also people who would love to be more
‘hands on’; who perhaps love music and dance themselves or are
too busy to help out administratively but whose hearts are never
far from the great things being done in Spirit of David.
-
Designated
Partners are individuals, corporate bodies etc who give to
Spirit of David for specific reasons or for particular projects.
Their giving is used strictly as agreed an outlined in a
business or project plan. This giving maybe either resource or
money but is designated to the performance of our goals, ranging
from our projects to more capital intensive projects such as TV
shows and our proposed multi-disciplined, dance school (the
First Ever in Nigeria).
We
realize any of these commitments are ‘serious business’ and know
that one must be rest assured of who ever you choose to commit to.
However, we believe some of the reasons and benefits that emphasizes
our credibility for your support are listed below:
-
Excellent
Programming; For almost 12 years, Spirit of David has staged
events like no other. These programs, spanning well over 62
dance shows, six national and international conferences, over 50
organised out-reaches, 9000 staged performances and hundreds of
dances have been viewed by well over 20 million people across
the world. The shows share stories, offer opinions, discuss
relevant issues and provide relief and humour. They have been
applauded and accoladed by thousands and have helped transform
the lives of many people – young and old.
-
Proven
Character: SOD is not a fly-by-night group. We have been
consistent for every day of every week and month since 1997.
Maintaining a character that not only reflects our beliefs and
faith is key to us as character is seen off stage more than on
it. It is indeed rare to find a people, who are multi-faceted
and largely self-supported remain consistent for so long.
-
Visable Track
Record: From Lagos to Uyo, Manchester to Pretoria, SOD has
maintained a visable and open track record. This serves to
concrete our character and credentials and is supported by many
individuals and corporations that may have had dealings with us
at one stage or the other.
-
Large
followings in target regions/audiences: SOD can rustle 30, 000
students in any state in the country at any time. This is not an
empty boast but a strength reflecting our relevance to Nigeria’s
primary target audience for most businesses and corporations.
-
Dance, a
universal language: In Ghana, we were celebrated by top theatre
professionals for redefining Nigeria’s image through our dance
production titled Colour & Colourlessness. We bridged gaps with
our West African neighbours by speaking through the universal
language of dance. This has been our testimony where ever we
have gone.
-
Continual
appeal: Dance can no longer be ignored. All over the world,
dance is taking centre stage. More programs, TV shows, movies
and artistes are being recognized as the days go by. We humbly
see our part in dance exposure in Nigeria and realize that as
pace setters, there is still so much we can do and examples we
can set to be followed.
-
Corporate
Exposure & Visibility: 90% of our projects offer immense
corporate exposure and visibility. Celebrity Takes 2 has already
proven that. But consider the possibility of a show like that
for kids? Or corporate staff, representing their companies and
company’s charities? What about radio programs, TV stations,
national and international shows/tours. The opportunities abound
and are very achievable with the right understanding and
negotiation.
-
Artistic
expression: The high level of creativity and artistic expression
found in SOD is attracting professionals and arts managers from
all over the world. Segun Lawal, the President and Chief
Coordinator of Spirit of David is himself an international
Fellow of the Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in
Washington DC. This growing interest in SOD can be potentially
beneficial to placing our type of shows and inspirational
material on the global artistic map.
-
Structure &
Stability: Leadership is firmly structured and established in
SOD. Its corporate relations are governed by our registered
company SOD Takes2 Dance Company and our Board of Advisors are
accomplished persons in their fields from across the country and
the world. Essentially however, the consistency and growth we
have experienced has helped us keep our shape and focus.
The
head of Gratitud is Mrs. Nwando Lawal, she works with Mrs. Yoyin
Familusi who are both long-serving members of Spirit of David (and
fantastic dancers!)
They

We wish to recognise the
unforgettable support of the following persons and groups, whose
faithfulness and commitment not just to our vision but to overall
professional performing arts development cannot be faulted. Don't
stop giving!
1. Sarah
Boulos and the Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria
SPAN has since 2004 supported Spirit of David, not
only to stage professional dance shows outside Nigeria but provide
the infra-structure for dancer's career development as well as its
wider appreciation.
2. Dr. Massad Boulos and
SCOA Nigeria PLC
SCOA has never turned down the opportunity to
support a Spirit of David initiative. Several top-management and
lower level staff have given to the cause.
3. Jide Odusolu & Rhodium
Development Co.
A personal friend to the family, Jide and Segun
have been friends for about sixteen years. Jide's wisdom and
exposure makes him the perfect candidate for sound, applicable
direction and depth.
4. Skye Bank.
By now, it is common knowledge that only one bank
had the vision and readiness to take the plinge and invest in what
turned out to be Nigeria's favourite TV show ever - Celebrity Takes
2 is an example of this corporate giant's commitment to saying
'Yes!'.
5. Bola Austin-Peters and
TerraKulture
TerraKulture provides such a rich location for some of the club's
very important performances. Of recent TerraKulture again provided a
venue for a Spirit of David classic: the Couples' Dance
Championship.
